Richard Talmage Images

Welcome to Richard Talmage Images Blog. I am a photographer on Cape Cod who will travel to your venue to document your wedding. I have been taking photographs since 1978. First I went to a Photography School called Antonelli School of Photography after I had completed Penn State University. While finishing Photography School I was selected to work in Washington, DC for Master Photographer Monte Zucker. I stayed in Washington, DC for 2 and 1/2 years before making my way to Philadelphia. I had a very exciting time in Washington and learned a lot that I continue to use today. Later in his life Monte and I met in Boston at a seminar he held and he was nice enough to give me a free set of photo materials for me to own. Monte was a great influence on my photo carreer.

I arrived on Cape Cod in 1984 and started to build my photo business while working for a sales job. From 1984 to 1993 I was a photographer who documented many weddings on Cape Cod. In 1993 I started to look at a local videographer who was emerging in that industry and I always felt I could document a wedding with a video camera also since I had watched videographers as early as 1980 while in Washington, DC.

While in Washington I learned to fit into a party even though I was in my twenties and I learned by attending many society weddings and parties how to handle myself in a crowd that was many times older than me. This gave me some good experience of handling myself and seeing the other side of life. I remember the first wedding I attended in Washington, DC when I walked into a room that looked like gold. The event was being held at the Mayflower Hotel. It was a spectacular room with gold leaf walls and food was everywhere. I immediately thought that this was a good place for me to be. I kind of liked to see things that I had not seen before. Once my employer told me that this room was for the cocktails I almost fell over. He showed me a wall that pulled back and in front of me was the largest dance floor that I had ever seen. That was the type of room where we used to work. Most weekends we worked at the Mayflower Hotel and the Four Seasons in Georgetown.

Since 1994 started out as a videographer and started in this emerging field. I have continued this until I took a few photos of the Popponesset Inn during a video wedding. Since I had some photos I sold my first Cape Destination wedding with photos and video on the same job. Since then I have done a few of these combination jobs each year. I have also added several edit combinations for video such as time shift editing and artistic editing to my skills. Some of the examples of my work are now online at http://www.capecodwedding.com

Today with the emerging of video online I have started up http://www.digitalmedia500.c0m/ for my commercail work and and http://www.richardtalmageimages.com/ for my photography work.
